Meet the first adjustable focus flashlight by Klarus - the FX10. With the Klarus Focusing System (KFS) you are able to adjust the focus of the flashlight letting you modify the output from a long distance spotlight to a broad floodlight. Simply twist the head of the flashlight to adjust the beam finding the perfect focus for any situation. The FX10 features a CREE XP-L HI V3 LED and delivers up to 1000 lumens making it extremely powerful. The maximum beam distance of the FX10 in the spotlight focus is 300 meters and in the floodlight focus it is 54 meters. This adjustable focus gives you a lot of versatility in a tactical flashlight.

The FX10 features a triple switch design - dual tail switches and a side switch which function independently. With these switches you'll have access to momentary on, One Touch Strobe, One Touch Low, a mode memory function, and a lockout function. The FX10 features six total outputs including four brightness levels, a strobe mode, and an SOS mode. To add more versatility this tactical flashlight features two programmable settings: the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. In the Tactical Setting you have a One Touch Strobe and a One Touch Turbo. In the Outdoor Setting you have a One Touch Low, a One Touch Turbo and SOS. Both of these settings are excellent to have and are simple to switch back and forth to.

The FX10 is also a USB rechargeable flashlights so it has a micro USB port located on the side for easy and convenient charging. It also features a charging/battery indicator. When the battery is charging the indicator will glow red, when it's fully charged it will glow green, and if something is preventing it from charging it'll flash yellow. When checking the battery levels the indicator will glow green which means the battery is over 70% charged. It will glow orange when it's between 30 and 70% charged. It will glow red when it's less than 30% charged and will flash red when it's less than 10% charged meaning it's time to recharge your flashlight or change the battery. Speaking of batteries, the FX10 can run on a single 18650 battery, two CR123A batteries, or two Klarus 16340 batteries.

With Klarus you can expect the best quality and durability. The FX10 features an Intelligent Temperature Protection System (ITS) that monitors the internal temperature of the flashlight and will adjust the output to protect the internal components and the LED. On the inside it features dual springs which will protect the battery in case of any accidental drops. You have reverse polarity protection to prevent damage to the flashlight or battery if the battery is inserted incorrectly. Crafted from Aerospace aluminum alloy with a hard anodized finish, this tactical light can stand up to harsh conditions. The Ultra Clear Polycarbonate Lens is not only durable but provides excellent light transmission. The FX10 waterproof up to IPX8 standards and is impact-resistant up to 1 meter. If you're looking for an extremely versatile tactical flashlight then the Klarus FX10 is perfect. Battery included.

Product Reviews:
I have bought other Klarus flashlights. They have all been of high quality. This light is very good also. I wanted try an adjustable flashlight by Klarus. Like all Klarus flashlights this light is very bright. I really like the feature that I can adjust the beam. I do not believe this flashlight is worth $90 or $100. It is a good bright light that a person can carry or leave in the console for an emergency. Buy this light if you can find it at a good price.

When Klarus first announced that they would be making an adjustable focus flashlight I was really excited to see what they would come up with. Adjustable focus LED flashlights are really great tools to have and give you more options to pick which kind of lighting you need. Klarus did not disappoint as I became more and more impressed while I was messing with the FX10 for the first time. With its 1000 lumen brightness it really is able to illuminate the entire area around you. There is an excellent distinction between the perfectly diffused flood light and the spotlight. With the spotlight you get a very specific tight hot spot in the center with a small amount of spill and with the spotlight the FX10 can reach out 300 meters. With the flood light you will get zero hotspot and the entire flood is completely evenly diffused. I really like the difference between these two beams and being able to pick what type of focus helps me in any given situation. Adjusting the focus is very easy with the simple twist of the head. Twisting the head is smooth but firm so you can easily adjust the beam how you want it to be and once you find the perfect focus that you're looking for you can be sure that the head will not move and change focus until you’re ready for it.

Of course there's more to this LED flashlight then just the adjustable focus. In fact, I think the FX10 might be the most versatile flashlight on the market today. The FX10 features a triple switch design. The dual tail switches function separately from the side switch so you can choose which switches you prefer using. Also, I want to focus first on the multiple outputs and the two programmable settings. First of all, the FX10 features four brightness levels ranging from 10 to 1000 lumens, a strobe, and an SOS mode. The two programmable settings that it has are the Tactical Setting and the Outdoor Setting. Looking at the Tactical Setting first, you have access to a One-Touch Turbo and momentary-on using the main tail switch. You have access to a One-Touch strobe by pressing down the secondary tail switch. Using the tail switch you can turn on the flashlight and cycle through three of the brightness levels. You can cycle through all four of the brightness levels and access a strobe mode, an SOS mode, and a One-Touch low using the side switch. The side switch also has a built-in memory function and you are able to lock out all three switches.

Looking at the Outdoor Mode, you do have access to the same One-Touch Turbo and momentary-on using the main tail switch, but the secondary tail switch will access a One-Touch low when pressed down. You'll be able to cycle through all four brightness levels using the tail switch as well. The side switch functions the exact same way in the Outdoor Setting as it does the Tactical Setting. So between these two settings, the triple switch design, the multiple outputs, and the adjustable Focus, you're able to essentially tailor this tactical flashlight to fit your exact needs no matter what the situation is. I've been using this flashlight myself for a little while and I have to say that I am already making great use of the adjustable focus and I'm especially liking the Outdoor Setting because I find myself needing that One-Touch low more frequently than I need the strobe.

The FX10 is a USB rechargeable flashlight which is always a great feature to see. It has a micro USB charging port located on the head of the flashlight and it has a silicone cover to prevent water, dirt, grime or anything else getting into the port. You have a handy little charging indicator located on the side switch. It'll glow red when it's charging, green when it's finished charging, and yellow when there is something preventing the flashlight from charging. Due to other Klarus flashlights that have the same charging indicator, we've learned that there can be a lot of reasons why it might be flashing yellow including a battery that is too depleted to charge via USB charging, dirt or grime getting in the micro USB port, or even a faulty charging cable or wall adapter. So if you see that yellow flashing I recommend checking those three things I listed.

The charging indicator also doubles as a battery level indicator and will glow for a few seconds after you turn on the flashlight. You'll see a green indicator if the battery is over 70% charged, yellow if the battery is between 30 and 70% charged, red if the battery is between 10 and 30% charged, and a flashing red if the battery is less than 10%. Once it starts flashing I highly recommend charging the flashlight as soon as possible so you do not deplete the battery too much.

The FX10 comes with a Klarus 18650 battery, but you can equip any 18650 battery you would like or even Equip two CR123A batteries. You can also use two Klarus 16340 batteries in the FX10 as well. It's always great to have options when it comes to battery compatibility. This LED flashlight also has reverse polarity protection which is excellent because that means it will protect both the battery and the flashlight if the battery is loaded incorrectly.

So the FX10 is truly a fantastic LED flashlight. Like I said before, you can essentially make this flashlight your own using the adjustable focus, the programmable settings, the triple switches, the multiple outputs, and the built-in memory function. Because it's packed with so many versatile features you can use the FX10 in a variety of situations. It's compact enough that you could clip it onto your pocket using the included pocket clip or you can keep it in your house and use as a general flashlight or a home defense flashlight. I've been using this flashlight outdoors a lot and I've been adjusting the focus as needed which has been really convenient. So if you're looking for an all-in-one tactical flashlight I highly recommend the Klarus FX10 LED flashlight.
