Pelican 8060 FAQs

  • How did Pelican manage to get 6 hours of burntime out of the 8060 flashlight with a Ni-MH battery?
The 8060 Ni-MH battery pack has much higher voltage and capacity than the 7060 battery pack.
  • Does the 8060 burn time diminish over the 6 hours or is it a constant burn to the end?
It’s constant for 4 to 4 ½ hours and gradually diminishes to 20 lumens at the six hour mark.
  • What is the 8060 lumen rating when you replace the Ni-MH battery with C batteries?
Peak light output is 180 lumens, but gradually drops to 150 lumens in one hour.
  • Does the 8060 light flash when the battery needs recharging?
8060 does not flash when the battery needs charging.  Gradual dimming over period of 1 ½ hours warns the user to charge the battery.
