In a rare collaboration between public and private sectors, the City of Los Angeles Police Department™ (LAPD) has partnered with Pelican Products to develop the Pelican 7060 LED as the standard issue tactical/patrol flashlight for all its officers.
The Pelican 7060 LED light employs new dual switch technology that allows the light to be activated by either a body-mounted patrol switch or a tail-mounted tactical switch. The dual switches, which include a momentary mode, allows the user to grip the light in several positions and still control activation. The light incorporates rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries for maximum brightness and are also light weight compared to standard batteries.

Grenade Grip - No-slip pattern for confidence in wet conditions.
Rechargeable - Low maintenance lithium ion cells are resistant to extreme temperatures.
Momentary Pulse - Rapidly pulsing the beam disorients suspects.
Cooling Fins - Machined aluminum heat sink draws heat away from the LED.
Serrated Lens Shroud - The beam shines through notches and alerts the user if the light is activated while standing lens down on a surface.
Low Battery Alert - Indicates when the power level is low by the blinking light.
Advanced LED Technology - A current regulator maintains peak brightness at 130 lumens for 90 minutes of burn time.
Optimized Beam - A focused primary beam penetrates darkness up to 120 yards, a secondary 12 foot pool illuminates the immediate periphery.
