I bought this more as a weapon than a flashlight. I'm a security officer, and it serves as a good tool, but really isn't all that bright for the size. The Maglite 2D LED is brighter and omits a white light as compared to this, which omits a yellowish light. All in all not a bad flashlight, but obviously it is heavy and big.

I use this product while working on my truck. It lights up the inside of the hood very well. I keep it within reach of the driver's seat while driving through bad neighborhoods; it's a nice big metal flashlight that would give any carjacker pause. It is durable and constructed of metal. It is not some cheap Chinese plastic flashlight, but it will last a long time longer than the batteries.
One con is it doesn't light up as bright as the four cell Maglite. This might be because I used cheaper batteries in it because it is slightly brighter than my five cell Maglite which is using the same brand of batteries. Another con is the cost of batteries. This is common to any battery-powered device, so it really isn't a con against Maglite, but it is something to keep in mind.
These flashlights last forever, so I can really say I would buy another one unless I needed to replace one that was lost or stolen. I recommend the six cell Maglite to anyone that needs a big sturdy flashlight that will last for generations.

We were very happy to find a 6 cell Maglite. Most of the ones you see are only 5 cell.
As a cab driver in Chicago there is not a better flashlight you can buy. It is great when you need light to find things fares dropped on the floor and it is a great light to have at 3 AM on Friday night when you are driving alone in the Ghetto.
