For the price it's as good as you can get. Rated a high standards from myself as well as from other reviews. The charger is stamped certified by CE and the AC adapter is stamped certified by Intertek ETL and conforms UL standards. Very good quality construction. Beefier build than other [*] Plastic spacers have metal cores inside which "screws" into the adapter. Works with variety sizes of Li-ion batteries - Pila specifically states to only use their brand batteries to charge! Clear cover has dual-spring action but recommend charging with cover in open position to prevent over heating of device. Most charges take approx. 3.5-4 hours. Although it is a little pricey, I would still recommend this purchase.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
After using other chargers with my 14500 lithium rechargeables, I got consistently unreliable behavior of the "Charging" and "Done" LEDs. The Pila charger does not have this problem.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Very good charger. I use it to charge my 18650 rechargeable batteries. Will be getting rc123 batteries soon and this will charge them. Very satisfied so far.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
This is the best Li-Ion battery charger for beginners. Very easy to use and very well made. I'm already planning on buying a 2nd one very soon.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
A little expensive, But a good charger. You get what you pay for.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Safe charger for Lithium Ion batteries. Fast charge time and no worries about overcharged cells.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
This is by far the ultimate charger. I am a Sgt for NYPD and use a flashlight that must mustain its brightness and use batteries i can count on. It far exeeds my expectations on a charger. I can go to work without worrying now if my flashlight will die out.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I bought this charger so I don't burn down the house, LOL!
I purchased several flashlights that use LiIon 18650's, 14500's, and RCR123a's. I purchased two chargers from DX. (TR001's) Upon reading the horrendous reviews where the DX chargers burst into flames...I immediately unplugged them and ordered the Pila IBC.
Peace of mind is well worth the price tag of the Pila.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Nice charger. After reading as much info as I could find on chargers for lithium rechargables, I settled on the Pila. You'll find that there just aren't alot of options out there - you either go cheap and get a few options, or you spend a little more and get a well built, does what it says charger.
I'm charging 14500 and RCR132 batteries. This charger takes them right to the safe limit - verified by my Fluke mulit-meter.
The unit seems very well built. It can get warm during operation, but have never felt it gets to hot.
If you want to save money in the long run, ditch the primary batteries, or save them for emergency/backup use and get this charger and some quality lithium rechargable batteries. Sure it will take you awhile to recoup the cost of the charger and batteries, but in the long run, you'll be money ahead.
I'm running my batteries in a AA model Nitecore flashlight, and 2 HDS RA Clicky flashlights - all of which are designed to use primary batteries, the AA can use NiMH batts. too or 14500's, and the Clicky's can also utilize RCR123's. The rechargable lithiums provide me with more voltage which = brighter output, and cheaper overall use.
Run, don't walk to buy a Pila charger. You won't be disappointed!

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I use 18650 powered lights at work and at home. I have a total of 3 lights (about to have a fourth) that use these batteries. I got tired of my cheaply priced (and cheaply made) charger taking forever to charge up my batteries and sometimes never showing them as being charged fully. I got tired of having my batteries seemingly unevenly charged from one time to the next. Most importantly, I got tired of not having charged 18650s when I needed them.
On the recommendation of members from Candlepowerforums I bought this charger and love it. I've yet to have a full charge from dead take longer than 3.5 hours. Its also nice knowing that they are being charged the same every time.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
great charger...The first example I got came with the spacers installed but when I attempted to unscrew them, they would just spin in the holes and not come out. Flashlightz sent a replacement and a shipping label to send the defective unit back. Great service...

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I use this charger to charge AW protected 18650 2600mAh batteries. So far this charger has worked perfect. It charges each battery up to 4.17v then goes to standby, everytime. The two channels are nice, allowing you to charge each battery independently. The build feels solid. Even the box was nice.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
This charger is fast and safe.
I have been listening to people praise this charger for a while. I had a less expensive charger that worked ok, but it charged the batteries too high, and it did not shut off completely after the charge was done. It would continue to trickle charge, which shortens the battery's life, and can lead to *vent with flames*.
The Pila IBC charges fast, and does not trickle charge after termination, which is important for lithium ion batteries.
It's the best charger for lithium ion rechargeable batteries that there is.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
There are a lot of things to know about charging Li-Ion batteries. These batteries can explode and catch on fire if treated improperly, so it behooves users to find out how to use and charge them safely. One of the best places to look is on the [@]. There you'll find more flashlight, charger, and battery info than you ever knew existed. But back to this charger. It's pretty much known as the standard of excellence for the Li-Ion batteries, meaning those batteries made from Lithium Manganese and Lithium Cobalt Oxide. The "safe" Li-Ion batteries (LiPo) charge at lower voltages than this charger provides, and would be damaged by it. You'll need a special charger for these batteries. The manufacturer recommends only charging Pila batteries with this charger, and that's fine, but other people who are much smarter than I use it to charge other brands of Li batteries. I charge my non-Pila RCR123 batteries with this charger using a piece of metal to act as a spacer (since these are short, squat batteries) and it works beautifully. Hard to say why they are so adamant about only using their brand of batteries in it, but I imagine it's a combination of self-promotion and assuring that people don't try to charge the wrong type of battery with it. Anyway, it takes very good care of my batteries, and since they're Not Cheap, I want as many uses out of them as possible. No real problems with this charger other than the lights flash when there's no battery in it. That's annoying, so I just unplug it when I'm done charging.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
performs exactly as stated, if not better
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I charge some rcr123 cells and 18650's, and it does a fine job. I got it because it received a lot of very positive reviews and I didn't want to ruin my batteries with an inferior charger.
It seems very solid and well made, and it was packaged very well too.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
It works great for charging my flashlight batteries!
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Coming from a Tenergy TL-100 to this is quite an upgrade. The Pila just oozes quality and gives quick, consistant charges to my 18650 batteries. I really like this charger...worth the extra money over other chargers.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
The PIla charger does what it should, and is well-made.
I had two other Li battery chargers, and tossed both. One cheap one would fit unprotected cells, but couldn't fit protected cells. The more expensive one had a lot of features but failed after a couple of months. The Pila fits a range of cells (once you figure out how Pila cells translate to standard sizes), charges well, and feels well built.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Excellent Kit!
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
A very good charger overall. Good product for the price. Charges my 18650 batteries to 4.15 volts every time. Only con is that it does not have a Australian power adaptor socket.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I use this charger to recharge my flashlight I mounted on my helmet when I skate outdoors at night. The pila recharges batteries very quickly for reuse
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
The quality is apparent on Pila's intellegent li-on charger. I have no regrets for spending a few extra dollars to purchase a Pila instead of an economy charger. FlashlightZ.com was a good choice as well.[...]
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I charged a 14500 with my UltraFire WF-139 and it said it was full. I tried it in my flashlight and it would not work at all. I tested it with my PILA/IBC and it said the battery was not chargeable. It was correct and the problem was solved, the battery was a dud. It does cost alot more, but if you have the cash, buy it!!!
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I bought the Pila charger because I wanted a charger that would protect me from myself. I like the smarts the Pila has and how it measures the battery's state before charging and won't overcharge.
I've been charging AW RCR123s. I plan to purchase a rechargeable AW 18650 soon and the Pila handle both battery types
So far, I've been happy with this charger.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
A definite cut above most cheap chargers that take up to 24 hours to charge a couple of 3000 mAh 18650's. This charger pumps them up in 3-4 hours! I was a little shocked that at this price, it is still "Made in China", that kinda' dissapointed me. [$] looks like it could be made here in the USA, and Pila still make a buck or two. Somebody is making a killing on this item on it's "preceived value" I'm afraid!
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
The Pila IBC charger is, in my experience, the best available for simple charging of all common sizes of lithium-ion rechargeables. It's well built, easy to use, and reliable in its performance. I use two in my home office and have purchased several more for friends and colleagues. It's a must-have in my book.
Flashlightz took my order, honored a previous price, and shipped quickly. I've ordered this item twice from them and have received top-notch service on both occasions. Thank you Flashlightz.com!
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Great charger. Comes with everything you need to charge most of the high end Lithium batteries (and exotic ones), works with both 110/220v power and charges the batteries for my flashlights quicker than any other charger I've had.
Comes with a nice carry bag for everything and is compact enough that I can shove it in my laptop bag without it being annoying.
I've already purchased a second one for a friend.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I use lithium ion rechargeable cells in higher end flashlights. It is a potentially dangerous chemistry and while I am value oriented, I would not consider using a 'value priced' cheaper charger. It is not worth the risk. This charger is the best in its class and that in itself is value. If you are using this type of cell, invest in this charger. Do not buy a cheap $20 charger that can ruin your cells as well as blow up or catch fire. The Pila charger is well made, charges properly and terminates when it should. This is the charger of choice at Candle Power Forums. The next step in chargers are hobbyist chargers in the $150 and up price range. If you are not familiar with lithium ion chemistry, research and learn about it before you start using it.
Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I USE THIS PILA IBC CHARGER TO CHARGE MY PILA 600P BATTERIES. I USE THE PILA 600P BATTERIES IN MY TIABLO A9 FLASHLIGHT WHICH IS A HIGH END POWERFUL FLASHLIGHT. THE PILA IBC CHARGER CHARGES QUICKLY & PERFECTLY. IT IS A VERY POWERFUL CHARGER AND IT IS NOT CHEAPLY DESIGNED.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I bought this charger because it was claimed on Candlepowerforums that it does not charge Li-on cells above the critical 4.20V level. However, I have measured >4.2V resting voltage more than once, which defeats the whole purpose of getting this charger versus using one of the inexpensive Ultrafire chargers.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I did a whole lot of research before purchasing this charger. It has the correct charging algorithm for charging lithium ions and I feel perfectly safe leaving it unattended. The manual recommends using only PILA batteries, however it will safely charge any lithium ion 18650, or even RCR123 although the latter will require a 15mm aluminum spacer (not included)
Delivery was very fast, and the product arrived in perfect condition, and was well packaged

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
I use the Pila charger to recharge my 18650's, 17670's, 14500's (uses the spacer included with the Pila), and 16340's (needs an extra 15mm spacer, NOT included with the Pila).
I check the cells before and after recharging. The Pila occasionally terminates early at 4.05V to 4.15V. It never terminates too late (over 4.20V). I'd consider this behavior to be conservative - which is very good when recharging potentially explosive Li-ion cells. I'd rate it as very reliable and the best charger under $50.

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
This is by far the best charger for it's price. I have no problems with it, it charges all my protected cells--though I do not have a multi-meter to measure the voltages yet. I have use batteries hot off the charger with no instaflash.
I am planning to buy another one with some ac adapters for in car charging when I go camping! WoOt!

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
My first "18650" size charging unit purchased for use with my high-performance flashlight. It works as advertised and unlike the cheaper units available online, this charger tops off the cells at a solid 4.20~4.21v (measured with a Fluke 92B scopemeter <- it's accurate). This is a very good thing due to the nature of Li-ion batteries to "vent with flame" when mistreated or overcharged. Best "Bang for the buck" charger available to date. I cannot comment on the durability of the unit due to only owning it for a month or so at the time of this review.
My biggest pet peeve, is that the unit is not compatible with 12v input for use directly from a car's electrical system, you have to purchase the Pila adapter for 6v as well. This is mainly an issue because I'm cheap, but my car has a significant electrical system, with standardized [can't put the brand here] connectors for amateur radio equipment, and I would love to have my charging unit compatible for quick use in the field. True I could build my own 6v converter, but I'm lazy as well as cheap..

Comments about Pila Pila IBCT 4-stage Charger, AC Adapter:
Great Li-Ion charger. Seems to terminate the charge around 4.15V and trickle to about 4.20V. With a couple of adapters, I'm able to charge 14500, 18650, and RCR123A cells!
