I wrote a previous review about this flashlight. At the time, I gave it a good review, but said I would buy another and hoped it would be as good as the frist one. Well, the results of that 2nd purchase all depends on how you look at it. The first one had a nice, although, yellowish 'ringy' center spot. The second one I got (of the same model), had a different light pattern. The second one had less of a center spot, and more light was spread into the 'spill' area. And, in the second one, the light was a little more white. So, you can't actually count on consistency from my reviews. The first flashlight I got of this type is good for having a bright light in a small area such as looking at some engine part under the hood of your car. The second one is better for softer lighting of a larger area, but it just doesn't seem to have the full total 'luminance' of the first one. So, I mainly use the first one with the bright center spot, as this is the type of 'lumination' I need most. The second flashlight would be better for 'moderately' lighting-up a larger area...but preferably in a confined/nearby space, such as generally looking inside a dark closet.

It's advertised at about 45 lumens, but speaking as a flashlight geek...who owns a number of LED flashlights...it seems brighter than that. I have 60-75 lumen flashlights that aren't as bright. This one has a nice bright, and 'decently large', center spot, but, unfortunately it has a bit too 'ringy' of a 'spill' area. More expensive LED flashlights have a solid 'spill' area...which is nicer. And this one's 'light' is a little yellowish as compared to most other (but more expensive), LED flashlights. 'All-in-all', considering that it has one of the nicest camo patterns as compared to other camo flashlights (that cost MUCH more), and the fact that it uses longer lasting AA batteries instead of AAA batteris...and that it DOESN'T use CR123A Lithion Ion batteries which are expensive, this is 'one-nice-flashlight for the money'. For household tasks, and for just having a 'cool-looking' flashlight, I would defintely recommend this flashlight. (Certainly, it's MUCH brighter than comparably-priced Krypton bulb flashlights). And, also it's metal, not plastic. In addition, it's just the 'right size'...not too big or too small. (I sure hope that the second one I ordered is as nice as the first one I got.)

I was given one of these flashlights by my partner in the Detective Division for Christmas one year. I kept it as a back-up light but never really used it. One night I needed a flashlight while looking for a bad guy, and my main light was dead so I grabbed this one. What an excellent light it turned out to be, when we found the bad guy I was surprised at how well it lit him and his surroundings up.
I have always shied away from the LED flashlights, because I did not feel that they were bright enough, but I quickly changed my mind. I then bought an extra one for hunting and camping. The other day a hunting partner took a shot at a deer just before night. I pulled out this trusty flashlight in order to look for blood sign, and was again impressed with it. Also I like the long battery life that I get on just 2 basic AA batteries. For an LED it is one of the best flashlights that I have ever used, and I am buying 4 more so I have one in every vehicle and wherever I may need one. My hunting partner is also buying one as he was so impressed with my light.
A great flashlight, I promise you won't be disappointed. (Note: as with all LED flashlights this won't throw a beam hundreds of feet away and light someone up, but for anything within a 20-30 foot area, it lights it up remarkably well)
