can change battrery with your eyes closed. It is water tight,even salt water,have had same one over 1 year and recently I got new one ,store i got it from no longer has them and dont want to be without it so now have spare

it has stood up to two years of salt water fishing and has got wet with salt many times the only neg. is the pin on the hingr id steel so it has rusted but still works. i just ordered new one ,cant find them in stores any more and i want backup

I'm a mechanic, I've been using head mounted lights for years, much better than work lights. This one is the best so far, the best diffused light, lightest. I'd pay double if I had to! Battery life? I use rechargeable AA batteries, works great. Just one battery in the unit keeps it nice and small.

I bought this as a reading light on camping trips and it really fits the bill. The diffuser makes it a comfortable reading light and it stays bright until the battery gives out. I didn't have much use for the red and blue lights. The fact that it uses one AA battery makes it really convenient as well.

Overall, this is an amazing product. I use mine for biking, the lamp provides about 3 hours of use on the main lamp, and never leaves you completely in the dark, the main lamp will shut down, but the secondary lamp, the two red lights, and the small white run for hours after the main lamp fails. It is also extremely light, and as a cyclist, this is important. my one complaint, the hinge will loosen over time, easily corrected, by tightening the tiny screw under a small plastic ring on the right side. Be careful though, I broke my first one by over-tightening. So small, bright light, and operates on a single AA. This is perfect for cycling

I attached this light to my hunting cap, and the use Ive gotten out of it is unreal. I love the spotlight it gives out. Incredibly strong for such a small light. The ability to flip the visor and change the light from spotlight to flood light is a great idea. I wouldnt trade this light for any other. Make sure you bring extra AA batteries however.

Boy, was I pleasantly surprised the first time I used this light! It's very bright for such a compact light, the beam is very white, and while it may seem a little cheesy I've found the diffuser disc to be handy. The on/off button has a nice feel to it, easy to push but enough resistance so that I can still feel it "click" with my gloves on ("click" is the best way to describe it but the switch is actually silent which I appreciate while hunting). Having the ability to rotate the light is nice too, I can go from a straight-ahead position (like when I'm hiking into my hunting stand before/after daylight) to a downward position when I need to use it as a worklight, use it to read something, or use it around the house like I did during a recent power outage. The headband has not lost it's elasticity from frequent use (the fact that this light is extremely light in weight doesn't hurt either) and is just the right size. Not too thin, but not too bulky either. The main reason I decided to purchase this unit is because I got tired of buying expensive specialty batteries for my other headlight. Since this light runs on a single AA battery I never have to worry about running around trying to find a not-so-common battery for my light when it needs to be replaced. Actually, Rayovac says a normal AA battery lasts about 2 hours in this light but I've found that it seems to last longer. The first 2 standard batteries I used gave me approximately 2.5-3 hours, the latest battery I'm using is an Energizer Lithium and after about 3 hours of use it's still going strong. I've used this light for multiple hunting trips over the last 2 years and it's never let me down even though it's been subjected to rain, snow, fog, and sub-freezing temperatures. In fact, my hunting partner was so impressed that he went out and bought one for himself. Over the years, only a few items have been so outstanding that I'll take the time to write a positive review and go out of my way to recommend it to others. This is one of those items!!!

I am a firefighter and use this headlamp on both my structure helmet and wildland helmet. I have grown to rely on this compact, lightweight yet durable headlamp. Have had it emersed in water and the environment and it continues to work as new. The colored bulbs allow me to utilize it at night while writing reports(red) and illuminates our reddish body fluid often seen on accidents(blue). And the thing only uses one AA battery. If its firefighter-proof, its a must.
