These lanterns are fabulous. The light is so bright, that they iluminated a large circumference. I wish they had more of these when I ordered. I use them now when ever we have a black out, which happened twice in one month. Easy to carry, easy to load the batteries, well made sturdy. I love these lanterns.

I experience some 3 to 4 power outages during the winter. Up to now, the room lighting came from a beam bouncing off the ceiling. This is the perfect solution to a general room light. My testing has shown that this is the ideal replacement. Have not used it enough to know the battery life. My goal was to have a light bright enough to light a room enough so that when I moved about I did not stumble and this does just that.
