I use it for general applications mostly around my home. The brighness is stunning.

I especially like the on/off switch on top. Some flashlights have the switch on the end cap, which is hard to use since I don't use a flashlight with my thumb on the end cap. The 7060 has both so if that appeals to you then you are covered.

Many of the other officers I work with have pulled my flashlight to see how it works against their own and the Pelican has won every time so far. An officer with over 30 years experience told me that a good way to test a light is that in the day time you can still point it at a building about 25 feet away and still see the beam, and the Pelican worked that test as well. The only downside is that I had to go out and find a different holster for it as the one supplied would not fit on my duty belt.

I purchased this light to install in my car for an emergency light. I didn't set out looking for something super bright, but this light certainly is. I like the idea that you can leave it in the charger at all times without worrying about battery life.

A lot of people I work with started going with this light. I thought it looked kind of stupid 'till my buddy blinded me with the thing. I had to have one. So, how does it compare to my old "one foot breaching tool". It is large enough to place under my arm and write without much need to readjust because it's light. The light fits on my duty belt easily with the use of the holster provided. I do not need to remove the light prior to getting in my car. The light is a little noticeable while sitting. A small adjustment to the side of my body fixed the problem. The end cap does not hit the seat and turn on when I'm driving. Yes, it holds in just fine on the run. You will find the power that the light produces and holds is great. I found that in close quarters (small bedrooms with very little wall obstructions) the tail cap comes in handy. Very bright though. Outdoors is great. The fixed beam holds great and the flood is just enough to search the ground. I charge the light at home and have no problem working a 12 hour night shift. I've gone 3 days so far without charging it just to see how it will go under normal use (not used for traffic direction during this time). The light could use a low power feature for writing. It's a bit bright for such application. I found myself trying to use just the flood portion of the beam for writing because the hot spot is just too bright against white paper up close. The best thing about the light is the weight and length. I hate lugging around more that I have to. The light is the right length and weight for versatile leo work. I'm not sure how shock proof it is yet. But, I plan to drop it hard soon to test it out. Speaking of shock proof. If it had to be used as a last resort impact weapon, you may as well carry a household stapler. I gave the light three weeks use before writing this review.

This is the best flashlight I've owned since my Dept took away my MAG Light and switched to Poly Stinger. Much brighter than Poly Stinger LED. Holds a charge much longer. Only real down side,to me,is the tail cap switch. It would be nice to be able to set the light on it's end to light up a room but with the tail cap switch you can't.

I have had my light for about three weeks now and all I can say is that it is AWESOME. I work for a local PD in northwest Ga and I am the k9 handler for my department. I started looking the Pelican 7060 when some other k9 handlers from a nearby department got them. We used them one night on a track of a suspect and it lite up everything around us and made tracking a lot easier.

I knew right then I had to get one for myself. My wife saw me researching it and she said once I found it she would pay for it. I found several different prices but FlashlightZ.com was the most reasonable and it came with a holder at no extra cost. All my officers on my rotation are so jealous. P.S. I've been a street cop for 9 years, 7 of which have been on midnight shift. I will say hands down this is the best flashlight I have ever seen in policing...actually, period. My first department issued officers decent mini stinger lights that came with a holster for the duty belt. I fell in love with having a light on my belt that was easy to get to whenever I needed it and small enough to be practical. I then became employed with my current agency who issues only full size rechargeable Maglites with obviously no holster. Need I say for those in the business, there is nothing suckier than lugging around a full size flashlight for building clearing, low light shooting, traffic stops, etc. Not to mention that the light bulbs bust if the light is dropped and the battery charge dies after no time at all. The Pelican being LED and rugged, erases those issues. I don't have to worry anymore about going to the Supply office for light problems and being handed a used replacement.

Some friends at work introduced the Pelican to me and I'll be forever grateful. I had to pay my own way for the light and holster but wow, it's an amazing light and worth every penny. My flashlight needs are completely independent now. I won't go on about the features that you can read for yourself. What matters at the end of the day is putting light in dark places and doing it without hassle. I'll tell you that when I'm out with other officers using their varied flashlights, there is no comparison to how ridiculously bright my light is compared to theirs. The beam just goes on and on forever and cuts through any weather conditions. I can light up things at distances that I would have never considered before. The battery lasts forever, the two button option is great and the size is just right for maintaining good tactics and officer safety. My purchase order went smoothly and I received my light quickly. I've been absolutely pleased with it since the first day and it gives me peace of mind coming with me on my belt wherever I go. I purchased the orange traffic cone also and just used it last night to direct traffic on an accident scene on a major highway. Once again, it was stupid bright and the cone fit nice and snug on the end of the light.

I won't dazzle you with b.s. or blow hot air up your butt. I am a real guy and I use this light in real world policing in Metro Atlanta and it's gets put through the paces every day. I have found no cons to it and I feel lucky to have come across it. Do yourself a favor, no matter what your application will be, BUY THIS LIGHT!

This is my second Pelican flashlight (I also own an 8060), and I am pleasantly surprised at the beam brightness in a device so compact and light. I also like the fact that the battery is rechargeable and that the light source is LED and not a filament bulb of some sort; this should yield a longer lasting and more durable light source.

Although the butt-mounted power switch is very easy to operate with a very noticeable click, the body-mounted power switch--perhaps because of its relatively smaller size--is somewhat more difficult to operate. It requires noticeably more effort, and the on-off action is not as positive. The body-mounted switch is the only deficiency in this otherwise stellar product.

As a Police Officer I've had only two flashlights in nine years. My department issued Long Mag light, and my surefire. I was introduced to this product by one of my squad-mates. Several others are going to buy one also. I've had the light for three weeks and it is custom made for midnight police work. It can be a little large for those with small hands while holding your firearm, but I'm very happy with it.

when I use this light, I can see so mutch more than i would normally see that I don't do anything challanging without it. Inspecting the furnace, I was able to look down the combusion tubes with out staining my eyes. To give you some idea of the beam capability of this light, we spotted dear on the four wheeler in the woods at night! you can make thing glow at 100ft.

With 16 years as a police officer and 20 as an arson investigator/fire inspector, I've had everything from [...]5-cells to Streamlights and dive lights. I'm now a private consultant doing construction inspections in environments from high-rise construction to hazardous materials and high-tech semiconductor facilities. My previous LED light was smaller and has a laser-pointer, but didn't give enough light for large, unlit areas. I got a new battery for my old Streamlight Stinger but it developed a bad switch, and I bought this instead of repairing the Stinger because the Stinger's battery life was never long enough for prolonged inspections or investigations. This light is great; it's lighter than the Stinger and much easier to grip, and doesn't roll around if you lay it down. The only tactical problem I see for police is that the end-cap switch can be bumped when putting it back into its open-bottom belt holster, causing a bright flash that could give away your position. Otherwise, the holster tucks the light up tight to your side, and its notch centers the side switch to the outside so you know where the switch is when you pick it up.This is an excellent design and should give me long, dependable use. I just wish the 12V car charger I had to buy separately came with its own charger clamp so I don't have to switch it back and forth with the 110V cord.Now if Pelican made an LED adapter kit for my Xenon dive light with its [$] bulb that only lasts 20 hours or so...

The first one broke, but the return policy and warranty was awesome! The one I have now works great and everyone at work wants one. I've owned every make and model flashlight it seems like in law enforcement and none of them compare to this one! My partner missed a person hiding in the back of a stolen car with his light, but once I lit up the car with the Pelican, I instantly located the suspect. That sold him on the light also! He is now buying one. You won't miss a thing with this light, it's bright! When it comes to officer safety at night, this is the light to have!

I've been a lifetime, avid Mag light owner, the pry it from my dead fingers type. I wouldn't consider any other brand for my general purpose light. I had the best rchrg Mag made for YEARS and I gave it away after two days owning the 7060. We've used many high dollar units on the ambulance and fire trucks over the years. The 7060 beats 'em all hands down and it's the smallest one we've ever used. The beam has GREAT distance, the two on & off locations make it a great tacticle light. The only thing I could say bad about it would be though it works well, the charging station isn't as solid as a Mag. The size and weight differance mean the mount can be smaller. They have NAILED the compact size vs. white hot rechargable balance. I didn't think this distance was even possible from a LED. I've never seen a fixed beam that worked as well as this one. The "halo" of light surrounding the spot is impressive. I left my first one on a scene. I cried but I couldn't live without so this is my second one

This light will illuminate at a far distance with ease, most lights dont work for my line of business b/c it will not go past a certain point, but this light will perform in the worst conditions. I work the grave yard shift in downtown Los Angeles. And where I park is near the darkest alley I’ve ever seen. The down and out frequently use this alley for all means of surviving such as burglaries, robberies, assaults, vandalism and everything else.
The Pelican 7060 is ALL THE LIGHT YOU NEED. The distance of light is maintain and BRIGHT.

I love having this light for evening fire and traffic accident calls. Being able to clearly see what I'm working on, plus direct/warn traffic, etc...this is the BEST light I have ever owned. Surely puts my MagLites to shame.

I like that it's rechargeable and more than 3x brighter than comparable lights. I also like that it's much smaller and lighter than a Mag, but big enough to feel how it should in my hand.

This is the best flashlight I have ever owned. My agency issued me the standard 4D maglite however I wanted something that was brighter and lighter. My only gripe (if you want to call it that), is that I perceived that the flashlight was shorter than it really was - I knew the dimensions ahead of time, but never held one before ordering. It holds a great charge, and it has a beautiful throw. I would recommend this light to anyone.

I've been using this light on night shift as a police officer for a few days and I really like it. Other officers keep asking me what flash light I have!

The light is bright and the beam extends further than I even need it to. It's perfect for blinding suspects in confrontations.

I just don't like the design of the holster it comes with. The small retention strap at the base of the holster sometimes loses hold of the light, and it would be nice if it came with a top enclosure flap.

I am a Police Officer in Florida and after reading reviews left by others, I decided to give the 7060 LED a try. After my first night using it on the road I was sold. The flashlight is small and light enough to keep on my duty belt, and it's intensity side by side with my full-size rechargables puts the large ones to shame. I plan on using this outstanding duty flashlight for years to come. It produces exceedingly bright, blinding white light, but more impressively, it throws the output such a great distance. The 7060 can illuminate large areas like a dark backyard or large commercial warehouse just as effectively as a smaller room or car interior. It's well constructed, rechargeable with long battery life. The tailcap switch allows for use as a tactical light, although it's a bit front-heavy in this application until you get used to the weight distribution. I do think the body of the flashlight is a little too slim as it doesn't fit as well in my hand when being held for tactical use. I HIGHLY recommend this light.

I use this light on patrol. The light is very bright and is lightweight. The only problem I had with it is trying to get it in the holder. It is a very tight fit and takes a few seconds to get it in. In law enforcement we know that a few seconds could make a difference in the outcome of the situation. I love the light but the holder needs to be a little bigger.

This light is unbelievably bright. The battery life is outstanding and the focused beam design gives incredible clarity and brightness at over 100 yds. I would highly recommend this flashlight. The cost is excellent, especially when compared to the price of other led lights, which don't have nearly the lumens of this light. It also sits very well against the frame of your duty weapon for tactical use with easy on/off activation, which is an excellent alternative when your gun doesn't have tactical light rails.

I use this product for my job in Law Enforcement. This light, by far is the best one I have had in my 14 years as a cop. The only thing I can see wrong is when the battery is low, the light blinks 3 times and then a min or so later the light just goes dead. It would be better if the light slowly turned off instead of immediately. Other than that the light is great.

Extremely bright light, battery will last at least 6 hrs. I have had NO problems with this light. To test the light, my friend shut off his headlights on a back road, and I held the flashlight out the window... the flashlight hit a better distance than his car lights (don't try this at home, kids). Kind of large, heavy, and too bright for the bedside, but great for power outages, and working.

One of the best lights for patrol work , good low battery feature it will flash off then be able to turn back on just as bright for short burst of light

I use this for many applications and it is incredibly bright for an LED flashlight. It has a great beam pattern although not adjustable (better that way in my opinion) And the lithium ion technology is great in that you can charge it without worrying about 'memory effect' ie: it can be charged even after a short use without affecting the run time of the battery, so you can always start with a full charge

The light is great. Easy on/off with the dual switches. It is a very bright light which comes in handy working graveyard. Just one comment about the working of the light...its great that it maintains its brightness and does not dim for the full battery life, but once the battery dies, it dies without warning, leaving you in the dark. Since the beam does not lose brightness when the battery life wears down make sure its charged all the time or have a readily available back-up light.

This light is super strong and virtually unbreakable. I have dropped it from 20 ft into the bottom of a barge and it only dented the cooling fins. I also like the built in voltage regulator feature. The beam never goes weaker until it dies. It blinks when it is time to recharge.

Excellent rechargeable flashlight. Very bright for law enforcement, stunning a unwanted predator, or finding something in the dark. Way better than any Surefire I have encountered, especially since its rechargeable and lasts longer than any Surefire I have owned. A+

I have purchased several lights by big name manufacturers and my Pelican 7060 LED is become my favorite light. Great design, durable, very bright and rechargeable. What more can you ask for from a light? This light puts my SL-20X to shame. Great job Pelican!

Great light, price too was reasonable. Only problem is that the endcap switch is too sensitive.

I use this flashlight at work as a police officer , this light is lighter than most police flashlights and slightly bigger than a stinger , but this pelican is much brighter , this a super flashlight.

This light is perfect to take along at night when walking my dogs. I can locate them easily, even when they wander into the bushes. The light beam travels an incredible distance and can illuminate even the darkest areas at night. I can see why police would use this product.
