Had a couple old Maglights.
They are probably 10 years old.
Maglights are just about bullet proof.
Now with these new LED upgrade bulbs.
They are more dependable and safer.

SINCE THE MAGLIGHT IS SO WELL KNOWN I COULD NOT BRING MYSELF TO TOSS IT BECAUSE IT NEEDED A BULB BUT [$] FOR A BULB IS A BITTER PILL. I HAVE BOUGHT 100 LED ALUMINUM FLASLIGHTS FOR [$] THAT PERFORM BETTER BUT AFTER ALL IT IS A MAGLITE

LED upgrade gives a better quality beam, not spread out like the original bulb, however was not nearly as bright as I would have expected from a modern LED in a 6D cell mag.

really bright white/blue light wide beam turns a dark room bright, easy install, great for saving those batteries that the regular bulbs drain fairly quickly, the only bad thing is the adjustment range is limited, on a regular bulb you can make the central spot the size of a baseball or the size of a beachball on the wall across the room, the led has a range from baseball size to maybe a small melon from about ten feet away all in all a great product great for saving batteries compared to a regular bulb about the same brightness and coverage but with a whiter light, i have one with this upgrade and one without both D battery models and if i had to choose id take the led over the regular bulb, but i keep the bulb i replaced in the tail, just in case

Brighter and those batteries last lots longer, It is always a pain to do the batteries when you need light now. I buy this as presents every time I see a friend with a Maglite.

The light works wonderfully. The only thing I was not prepared for is the "blueness" of the light compared to the original lightbulb. The original was more yellow and the new beam is a bright blue/white light. Excellent product.

these led bulbs are only half as bright, but they do last forever. i'd rather replace bulb occasionally and have a bright maglite.

It's more or less acceptable, the color of the light is pretty cool, it's bright, but not the brightest one for sure, although that was not promised, so it's ok. I replaced my original krypton bulb hoping that this one will last forever with the same set of batteries giving me the same or near the same brightness, but it's even better than the original "yellow" one. As for a recommendation below... Depending on what you're going to get with this replacement. I bought it for a huge device with huge batteries and it's ok to keep it working this way. As for other flashlights, I'd rather switch to another model - Rayovac Sportsman Xtreme 3C 4W LED Metal Light MFG#: SE4W3C. This one is ideal for a wide various set of applications.

If you look at the additional battery life you get with and LED - this is a no-brainer. I would only caution that the light given by the LED is more whitish blue and less yellow. So - the overall look of the light is different, but other than that it's great!
