As an aircraft mechanic a flashlight is required, the brighter the better. Maglite has the majority of the market as far as I have seen, I own a 3D cell maglite and used it for years. every large (C cell and up) maglite develops dead spots in the focus range.
when maglite came out with the led minimag I loved it and bought 3. the first was a 3AA light, I thought it was great all the light of the D cell in a little package! it developed dead spots.
I then bought two of the 2AA led minimags they are the perfect size to wear on my belt, (the only down side to the large maglites) I loved them until the first one developed dead spots after a month. the second lasted 6 months, two other mechanics I work with had the same problems.
these lights are bright, light, portable, inexpensive, but unfortunatly they don't last, and unlike the big maglites where you can just stay away from the dead spots, these turn off and on by turning the head, so you can't avoid them.
maglite please! fix these flashlights!!!
It's a good portalbe flashlight. The style is designed very impresssive.
I use this flashlight at work all the time - it is the brightest small flashlight I have ever had! Have had other mini-mags, other small flashlights (use it off my belt)- but this one is far superior! Good clear, bright beam with no bad spots. Only drawback is that battery lifespan is about half.
