I bought this light to replace a streamlight sl 20x that I was using for duty. I had used my streamlight for 11 years with no problems, other than having to replace the battery pack. I primarily chose this light because of its brightness and perceived durability. The light was brighter than anything in the same price range and far lighter than what I had been currently been carrying. Unfortunately this light was not at all durable. I was forced to break out a window in an emergency situation ( done many times before with my streamlight with no problems ). This light never worked again. I went in and bought a new battery pack for it ($45) and still nothing. Now its just an expensive paperweight.

This is one seriously sturdy professional grade flashlight. It's very bright and the beam is very nice. The light is very even and the optics are unique. I use this mostly as an emergency light and it's usually found in my car or outdoors. I can't say this flashlight is for everyone, but if you want something that you can seriously rely on, this is the one you want.

The only flaws relate to the charger. The charger has a very convenient AC/DC input, but you have to change cord ends to do this and I immediately lost the DC one. The charger is another sturdy piece of work, but sometimes the flashlight doesn't snap into place properly which leaves you with an uncharged battery.
