I bought two. One I use at work as a backup flashlight on the flight deck and I also use it for pre-flight duties. The other one I keep in my car for emergencies.
Pros:
Holds a charge for a long time
Solid construction
Charging gearing seems to be built to last.
Cons:
The beam is not focused rather there is a dimmer circle of light surrounded by a brighter circle.
I wish the body was made out of metal.

I use these garrity crank lights in a University Physics Laboratory. Students are not good at conserving batteries. So these lights are a gem. I have about 400 students per week using these lights in low-lighted rooms. The two modes of three lights or one light is easy to discover and well appreciated. Students are always asking how much and where to purchase. Faculty enjoy them too. Many classes never even crank them up, because a previous class did the short crank and the light, yes believe it or not, last through much of the day (we only use them for 15 minutes or so out of two hours of class time.)

Our kids like to have flashlights when they are going to sleep at night. Wind up flashlights are great because they don't take batteries. We've gone through a lot of wind up flashlights. Usually the crank strips and it doesn't work anymore. The Garrity light is good quality for the price. Good solid crank that seems like it will last for awhile.

My husband uses this flashlite nightly. I go to bed early and he uses the flashlite, rather than to turn on any electrical lights. I appreciate his consideration and he prefers this lite over and above the battery-powered lites. I bought 3 of theses lights, one for home, one for my truck, and one for work. A friend of mine has had one for over 7 years and it's still working. They are great! Make sure you get Garrity, the copy cats are junk. It's great not to have to buy batteries.

I purchased 3 of these for my family cars. Batteries take a beating in the cold here in NY and I wanted to be certain that we all had working flash lights in the car. These flashlights fill the bill. My only problem is that they are relatively big when compared to AA battery flashlights.

Tough 3-LED generator flashlight, produces lots of light with tight beam, with low-intensity 1-LED option. A bit large for pocket, but gives the impression of being solidly built. Good longevity of light per wind-up charge.

This is just the thing for an emergency trunk organizer. I put it in a bag along with jumper cables, fuses, fix-a-flat, gloves, rags and a few other essentials. Imagine my surprise when I placed this light in the bag four days after testing the light to find that the light was still illuminated

I am most pleased with the quality, brightness and whitness of light.
After dark I carry it everywhere because it unexpectedly comes in handy.
I have some very nice battery operated flashlights, but as an over 60 person I well know that batteries die or a bulb quits at inconvenient times. Therefore I prefer the Garrity light that is always ready.
In its class this is the best flashlight that I have ever owned.

I now own 5 of these garrity crank flashlights (with 3 small lights instead of one).

I live in a place with frequent power outages and it's so nice to simply hand everyone in the house a flashlight that can never be out of power.

Each person cranks theirs for 1 minute or as long as they can, and the flashlight stays lit for hours.

People can read and the littlest ones have a light to make them feel safe. This flashlight is nice and bright and does not need constant cranking.

Nothing could make it better for our family.

I can highly recommend this small flashlight.

I'm using these flashlights for purposes they were not designed for and have had them completely torn apart. They are tough and designed well for flashlight aplications. All four all still generating even though they probably shouldn't be.

This flashlight is great in your vehicle. If you're like me and have had a dim or dead flashlight when you need it. Never again, with this you will always have light!

The only thing it would not be good for is cranking it up when you are trying to be quiet, like if you hear a noise in the night. But for walks, or keeping in the pantry, vehicle, it's the best.
